Step and Direction to Quadrature – SD2Q

This unique device is a complete System On Chip Solution designed to take discrete step and direction pulses and encode them into X4 quadrature data suitable for use with complex precision motors. The SOCS comprises a high speed signal processor and converter system with input / output protection and signal conditioning. Step and direction signals presented to the input port are shaped and measured before an on-board processor translates them to discrete quadrature phase A and B terms at the output port. The quadrature phase output direction is pin selectable and can be changed on-the-fly. The device can also be configured to initiate a conversion on either the leading or trailing edge of the step input pulse. A built in nominal 100mS power-on delay allows system power to settle before the device becomes active.
