Quadrature to Step and Direction – Q2SD

A pair of periodic signals are said to be in “quadrature” when they differ in phase by 90 degrees.  The relationship between these two signals  is used to indicate both speed and direction, which means that accuracy and precision are extremely important. When just one missing pulse could mean the difference between your equipment failing or succeeding in the market place, you can’t afford take the chance on unproven technology. This tried and tested solution translates the quadrature signals into precise, accurate, discrete Step and Direction signals.  This device operates in two user selectable modes which are both directly related to the levels present on the SD and SP pins.  The speed at which the Step and Direction signals are output is dependent on the  speed of the applied Quadrature data input. The device also ensures that the Direction signal is always active before the Step signal occurs to ensure that the driver has adequate time to setup properly. This unique device will open up avenues to build possibilities that you may never have even considered before now.
