3D FDM services

 (Fused Deposition Modeling)

Widget-Tronics will, at its discretion, support engineers who are representing commercial entities (such as a corporation) by offering it’s 3D printing services to assist those entities’ to achieve their product design prototypes. FDM products provided by Widget-Tronics are generally within a 0.2mm tolerance and are from either PLA or PETG. The build volume should be < 150mm x 150mm x 150mm. All FDM products provided by Widget-Tronics must not be resold. All 3D print requests are subject to our DISCLAIMER relating to all products.

To request a 3D printed model please contact the solutions team using the form below, and we will endeavor to evaluate your request and respond within 48 hours.

FDM starts with rolls of thermoplastic filament as its source material. These typically come in 1.75 millimeters dimeter, on roll a spindle. A FDM printer heats the filament to the point where it becomes molten and then squeezes it out through the extruder nozzle. in this way it lays down layer upon layer onto a build surface to achieve a model. The layers are incredibly thin, (typically 0.2mm with our print process) and as each molten layer is laid down it partially fuses with the layer below as it cools.
